The Barn!

Hubby was on vacation last week so we got alot done. We got the flower beds weeded and everything got a new layer of mulch. I love the way it smells....mmmm and it looks nice too. I just had to share the front of the barn with ya'll. I love this pic. I hope you enjoy it too.

Grainery Door

I finally brought home my old grainery door. It was used on the farm when I was growing up. That old door was opened many a time when we went to the grainery to back up grain for the mill. I just knew I had to keep it. I'm not sure if I will keep it in the flower bed or put it on the porch. I was thinking about adding a wreath on it or maybe some dried sunflowers hanging down the one side. Any suggestions? I'll post a pic when I decide where it will go and what I add to it.

Our Newest Addition!

This is our "Miss Sophie". We got her March 16th when she was 2 months old. She's developing quite a personality. I'm getting her used to a collar and leash. She's ajusting very well to her new surroundings.

We plan on breeding her next year so we can enjoy fresh milk. I will also try my hand at making cheese and soap. We are currently drinking raw cow's milk from a local farmer and I make butter from that also. It's so easy and tastes good too.

This is my first attempt at blogging so bear with me please. I'm sure it will get better with time. lol
